Personalisation and Engraving

Personalisation and Engraving

Many of our pieces can be personalised with your dog's name and, on our collars, your phone number. You add the details when you order, see a live preview before you buy, and we make the piece to order for your dog. This page explains which pieces can be personalised, what to engrave and how ordering works.

What we personalise

  • The Kensington Collar: the warm gold quick-release clasp is engraved with your dog's name and your number.
  • The Mayfair Collar: the solid gold-tone buckle is engraved with your dog's name and number.
  • The Marylebone Walking Set: the quick-release buckle is engraved with your dog's name and an optional number.
  • The Keep: our hand-coiled cotton rope toy basket is personalised with your dog's name.

You can see every personalised piece together in our personalisation collection.

How it works

  1. Choose your piece, along with the size and colour.
  2. Enter your text in the personalisation fields on the product page.
  3. Check the live preview, which shows how your text will look before you order.
  4. Place your order. Your piece is then made to order with your details.

Estimated arrival is 6 to 10 working days. UK delivery is complimentary on orders over £30.

What to engrave on a dog collar

In the UK, the Control of Dogs Order 1992 requires every dog in a public place, such as a road, pavement or park, to wear a collar with the name and address of the owner on it, either inscribed on the collar itself or on a plate or badge attached to it. There are limited exemptions, for example for some working dogs, dogs on official duty and registered guide dogs.

A phone number is not legally required, but it is strongly advisable, because it is the quickest way for someone who finds your dog to reach you. That is why our collar engraving is built around your dog's name and your number.

So, before you order, make sure your dog will also be wearing your name and address whenever it is out in public, for example on an ID tag attached to the collar. Microchipping is a separate legal requirement: in England, dogs over eight weeks old must be microchipped and registered, and you should keep your details up to date on the database.

Check your spelling carefully

Engraving cannot be undone, so take a moment before you confirm:

  • Read your dog's name back letter by letter, especially names with more than one spelling.
  • Check every digit of your phone number, including the area code.
  • Look at the live preview to make sure the layout reads the way you expect.

Returns on personalised items

Our usual returns policy is 30 days, hassle free. Personalised items are different: because they are made to order with your details, they can only be returned if they are faulty. If anything arrives that is not right, please get in touch with us and we will help.
